Perfectionism
Perfectionism often masquerades as ambition, productivity, or high standards, but underneath, it can feel like never being good enough no matter how hard you try. It can take a toll on your mental health, relationships, and sense of self.
I work with clients to unravel these patterns, loosen the grip of unrealistic expectations, and build a more grounded, sustainable way of being. We’ll create space for rest, mistakes, and being human.
What is perfectionism?
Perfectionism is a pattern of thinking where self-worth is tied to achievement or flawlessness. It involves a persistent fear of failure, high self-criticism, and the belief that nothing is ever enough.
This can show up as:
-A harsh inner critic that keeps moving the goalpost
-Trouble feeling proud of your accomplishments or “turning off”
-Avoiding tasks unless you can do them impeccably
-Overthinking or procrastinating because it feels safer than getting it wrong
-Measuring your worth by how much you achieve or produce
-Constant pressure to improve, achieve, or be better
-Fear of letting others down
-Difficulty asking for help, resting, or setting boundaries
